This non profit corporation was formed in 1956 to administer a program of awarding scholarships to graduating high school students who live in West Seattle. Scholarships have totaled $10,000 per year for the past 10 or more years. Most of the funding comes from fund raising projects of the West Seattle Lions. In addition, income comes from donations as memorials to departed West Seattle Lions and others in our community.

Each month an outstanding student from each West Seattle High School is recognized at one of our luncheon meetings. They are recognized, given a certificate and a $50 gift certificate for Barnes & Noble. Students of the Month from Chief Sealth: Josh Angles, Emma Henderson, Francisco Mendoza, Malena Mao, Florence Matautia, Antoinette Brown, Caylynn Velo, and Suleiman Ali. From West Seattle High School: Maggie Oliver, Woody Sorey, Holly Covington, Karen Dean, Kirsten Sims, Verena Chung, Kaileah Baldwin, and Melissa Collins. From Seattle Lutheran: Corey Kay, Kimberly Smart, Blake Wulf, Sarah Wood, Ryan Morgan, Bill Nguyen, Grace Johnson, and Rebecca Krebs.
